Boise Open Turns 20!

2009 event set for Sept. 14-20

 

The Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2009, Sept. 14-20, at Hillcrest Country Club. The tournament will continue to be broadcast internationally on The Golf Channel to more than 110 million subscribers. The tournament is managed by Jeff Sanders Promotions, based in Portland, Ore.

Owned and operated by the PGA TOUR, the Nationwide Tour completed its 19th season in 2008. Nationwide, one of the world’s largest insurance and financial service providers, finished its sixth year as the umbrella sponsor of the Tour. The Top 25 money winners on the 2008 Nationwide Tour automatically earned playing privileges on the 2009 PGA TOUR.

In 2008, charity contributions surpassed $1 million, signifying the tournament’s largest singleyear donation to charity in its 19-year history. Since its inception, the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft has distributed more than $9.5 million, making the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft the largest in terms of charitable contributions among all 30 tournaments on the Nationwide Tour.

The tournament’s primary beneficiaries collectively received $300,000. The primary beneficiaries include:  2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games, Ballet Idaho, Inc., Big Brothers Big Sisters of SW Idaho, Discovery House (a facility of the Idaho Youth Ranch), Easter Seals- Goodwill Northern Rocky Mountain, Idaho Botanical Garden, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, NAMIBoise (National Alliance on Mental Illness), Nampa Family Shelter Coalition, Inc., Regence Caring Foundation for Children, Special Olympics Idaho, and St. Luke’s.
